Thesurvivior2299 website has caused a lot of controversy throughout the Fallout Community, with many questioning the legitimacy of the site; but one thing is certain: this is quite a mystery.
The text currently displayed on the website:
“KVNGR REV ALPHA PPS VT PIZ UHMYLPVOQ CM XHWMZP. NBJB SPI’F BYQS QT D’Y BYFGEOB FI VQDYL MAQ. -NGQHT 5120-“
“Nuclear winter has come”
The coded text translates into:
“THE INSTITUTE IS SEALED. THEY WON’T HELP US I’M HEADING TO BLACK ROW. -TBNLS 5120-“
The page has been updated after the first countdown has ended, showing what seems to be a coded message, and the statement, “Nuclear winter has come.” The decoded message still seems to be a mystery to me, but it is some sort of communication between two people as far as I can tell. It could be a communication between people moments after the drop of the bombs, trying to reach the underground shelter at MIT, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, but failed, having to go back to this “black row”. Black row could be Boston’s Merchants Row , which is a street with a lot of commercial activity. We still don’t know what that means, but MIT and Merchants Row are very near, just across the Longfellow Bridge from eachother in Boston.
The new Morse code for the site reads:
“Calling all stations, calling all stations, calling all stations. This is Overseer of Vault 119. Emergency. Unknown enemy. SOS SOS SOS. Vault 119. Quabbin. 7667. SOS SOS SOS. Vault 119. Quabbin. 7667. Enemy unkno-“
Could it be the time Fallout 4 will be released in 2014, or could it be the time the bombs drop, and the fallout begins? Nuclear winter describes the cold and ash that is experienced in the fallout zone after an atomic blast, from the blast blocking out the sun, and the fires creating the ash, so it could be possible it’s the time the bombs exploded — but we won’t know until or until the next countdown ends.
If you get my opinion, I’d say this is very legitimate. There is no way that an independent hoaxer could effort the hosting costs, or let alone put together such a intricate mystery, that probably took a lot of planning and work. Besides that, Bethesda would have been swift to deny the websites legitimacy if it was a hoax, and as for now, Bethesda has kept it’s mouth shut.
All we can do is wait to hear from Bethesda, hopefully when the second countdown has ended, and we will finally get to see what Bethesda has been brewing up over the years.
